MBS CONNECTION® is a fitness company whose primary focus is on strength and conditioning programs. We specialize in post rehabilitation strength and conditioning, general strength and conditioning and weight loss. We have complete lifestyle approach to your health and fitness. We believe that success comes from adequate exercise, proper nutrition, and lifestyle changes.
Is my online fitness trainer or coach a real person?
Absolutely, we believe in the benefits of working with a human coach. While there are a variety of one size fits all apps, we pride ourselves in taking a more humanized and personalized approach.
How will I communicate with my trainer or coach?
MBS trainers and coaches are available via text, chat, email, video conference, or phone call. You can message your trainer or coach with questions, concerns, if you need advice (within our scope of practice) or for support to keep you on track.
How soon will my trainer or coach respond to my messages?
As a rule, your trainer or coach will respond to you within 24 hours. However, the average response time is typically much faster than this and your trainer will always get back to you as quickly are possible.
How often will my trainer or coach check in with me?
Your trainer or coach will conduct comprehensive progress review once per week, which includes a review of your workout, nutrition plans and any lifestyle coaching tools (registration required for additional lifestyle coaching tools). During your comprehensive review, your trainer will make any necessary adjustments and guide you to the areas you should focus on over the following week.
How often can I speak with my MBS Trainer or MBS Coach?
You can contact your trainer or coach by email or text and can expect a response within 24 hours. Email, chat, and text support are unlimited at MBS CONNECTION®. If you require additional support, we suggest you register for weekly phone or video support with your trainer or coach.
How customized is my online training program?
Your training plan will be 100% customized to your individual lifestyle and goals.
How does my trainer or coach measure my progress?
Our trainers and coaches measure your progress through a variety of methods. These include but are not limited to relative strength, scale weight, body fat percentage, and measurements. You can also add progress photos that will be kept private between you and your trainer or coach.
How does my trainer or coach correct my exercise form?
Having great form is an essential component of training to prevent injuries and for maximizing your progress. To ensure your form is correct your personal trainer will video conference with you (live online programs) or have you record your videos (for online e-coaching programs). During your video conference or after review of you uploaded video your trainer or coach will provide you with feedback regarding your form.
Do I need to purchase expensive equipment or have a home gym to train effectively?
There is no need to run out and purchase expensive equipment or hire a contractor to build you a home gym. Once you receive your initial consultation with your trainer you will be guided on the type of equipment required for your prescribed workout plan. Your trainer will consider the space you have at home or in your office to store equipment or to train effectively and safely. Your equipment budget will also be considered when you speak with your trainer regarding the purchase of fitness equipment.
How long will it take before I see results?
Generally, it takes 8 to 12 weeks to notice results. The types of results you will notice varies as its based on you as an individual and depends on your baseline fitness, how hard and how frequently you exercise, what your eating habits are, as well as a variety of other factors. We make every effort to deter you from placing primary emphasis on visual results and refocus you to pay attention to increased energy, reduced stress, improvements in your strength, etc.
How often should I exercise?
In general, it is recommended that you start with 3 sessions per week. Over the course of time you can progress to 5 to 6 days a week. If your progress slowly and vary your exercise routine, you will avoid exercise burnout and overuse injuries. Avoiding injuries and exercise burnout is why it is crucial to work with a fitness professional.
I have never exercised before, is strength training safe for me?
Strength training is safe or most everyone, but we recommend that you check with your primary care physician prior to the start of any exercise program. In general, if you start slowly, and you do not progress too quickly, you will find benefits from strength training. We do recommend you consult and work with a professional fitness trainer to learn proper technique and form. Doing so will help avoid injury and help you achieve results.
Why is it important to check with a primary care physician prior to the start of an exercise program?
Depending on your health and age there could be important tests that your doctor may need to perform before you can begin exercising. For example, you may need an EKG, a stress test, blood tests, and more if you are over 40 years old, overweight, or have history of disease or illness. The doctor may have recommendations on what type of exercise you can perform safely and effectively. We believe in a team approach to your health and fitness. Your trainer can and will e in touch with any physician or healthcare provider required to help you achieve your goals in a safe and effective manner.
What is CORE training?
The “core” muscles of the body are those muscle which attach to and stabilize the spine. These muscles when trained properly prevent injuries that can occur when poor instability, poor balance, and coordination are due to poor “core strength”.
I travel frequently, is this a problem?
Travelling is not an issue. Your trainer and coach can adjust your routines and workout calendar to accommodate your travel plans. All you need is the ability to access Wi-Fi or data and to have a willingness to communicate in advance with your trainer or coach.
